Nearby is the part of Vibio that is hardest to explain and easiest to use. Turn it on and Vibio shows you other people running it around you. You can message them, and you can send them a song.
There is no account
Nothing is signed into. Discovery is per profile and off until you turn it on, and when it is on, other people nearby see the display name you chose and nothing else. Not your library, not your downloads, not what you are listening to.
Nobody is holding the messages
Devices connect directly to each other where the network allows it. Where it does not, messages pass through a public broker as a live relay, so a conversation keeps working across different networks. Either way there is no Vibio server storing it: each device keeps its own copy of a chat, and deleting it removes it from that device.
The practical consequence is worth saying plainly, because most messaging apps work the other way: if the other device is offline, there is nothing queued for it. Delivery happens while both devices are reachable.
Sending a song
A song you send arrives as a card the other person can play or save. If you have a copy on your device, they get it from you.
Chatting properly
Replies, reactions, forwarding and swipe-to-reply all work the way they do in a messaging app, because a feature that handles songs still has to handle a conversation.
